It’s all about agility
Agility /əˈdʒɪlɪti/ noun
NZ Wire & Mesh Ltd are specialist manufacturers of custom-designed welded mesh panels. We will work to standard specifications or individual specifications provided by customers for private work and/or by designers, architects and engineers. We have the ability to fabricate almost any mesh gauge, pitch (aperture) and size in raw steel, pre-galvanised steel and stainless steel.
Our set-up times and manufacturing rate are designed to work within a very short turn-around time to produce multiples of welded mesh products and have them ready for despatch directly to the customer.
Welding and construction is carried out by qualified New Zealand professionals. The mesh itself is manufactured here at our factory in New Zealand on a dedicated CNC Ideal GAM116 automated mesh making machine. We have direct control over weld temperature, duration and pressure to ensure that every single weld point is the strongest it can be and meets AS/NZS 1554.
Our facilities also include bending, rolling and folding panels to make a finished product such as guarding assemblies, balustrade inserts, framed panels, rock-baskets and gabions.
100% MANUFACTURED IN NZ
We work alongside manufacturers and designers to create effective product solutions. From intricate assembly line machinery parts to ingenious pest trap assemblies, we encourage collaborative decision-making to achieve successful outcomes.
Standard or custom sized anti-climb mesh products, suitable for a wide variety of uses, from recreational to high security. Quality mesh, manufactured in New Zealand.
We provide a rapid and accurate service for buyers requiring specific lengths of straight wire. Typically we supply this service to manufacturing companies looking to add value to the wire as part of an end-product component
We’ve Been Fabricating Wire and Tube For 36 Years
Wire Displays was founded in 1984 by Mark Corrigan. Starting as a small wire and tube product fabricator it has since grown substantially to establish itself as one of the leading wire product manufacturing companies in New Zealand.
In 2019 the company was bought by Nigel Brown and NZ Wire & Mesh Ltd was formed, to manage the growing industrial and construction division.

How does NZ manufactured Mesh differ from imported mesh?
The wire that is used to make the mesh comes from a verifiable source. NZ Wire and Mesh have accredited drawn wire suppliers from Europe and Asia who work to international standards.
Resistance spot welding in mesh manufacture involves roughly three critical cycles; squeeze time, weld time and hold times. At NZ Wire and Mesh, dedicated data files keep a track of this process to ensure the mesh is fit for the purpose it is intended, not a one-size-fits-all attitude.
How quickly can you manufacture custom sized mesh?
Providing we have the required gauge and type of wire in stock we can have a sheet of mesh of any dimension ready in 4 hours and once production starts, a basic piece of mesh is manufactured every 84 seconds! Delivery is always dependent on current workload. We recommend a minimum lead-time of 2 weeks.
What information do I need to provide for ordering custom sized mesh?
We recommend that clients provide:
- wire type
- wire gauge
- wire pitch (the aperture of the squares preferably supplied as centres)
- overall dimensions (either as centres or outside dimensions)
- edge finish in a straight wire or with “tails”’
- quantity required
- drawings if available
